“I built something to escape on
Something that could still take me home.”
We are the Anchors and the Sails, moving through time.
We remember our names and also our history.
Centuries after HIMJI sailed here, people from future generations have followed – all in pursuit of an escape from global concerns and everyday troubles.
Destiny has been watching and knows how to help the latest arrivals as they seek sanctuary from hurt and fear. They embark on a new story of self-discovery and future plans, helped along by a boat, a book and bucket of mysteries.
BSL interpreted and captioned. Creative use of audio description is woven into the show.
Created & performed by Graeae Young Company.
About our Young Company:
Our Young Company are a fundamental part of Graeae. Not only are they the next generation of artists, they also inform company policy, and are our ambassadors. Our Young Company develops their theatre making skills and explores the world of drama, in a creative and supportive environment. We meet all access requirements including providing BSL and SSE interpreters, and Access Support Workers. There are no fees, no auditions, and all projects are led by Deaf and Disabled artists.
