In autumn 2019, Graeae and Theatre Royal Plymouth toured a brand new production of One Under, written by Winsome Pinnock (widely regarded as the “godmother of Black British Theatre”). This evocative thriller of intertwining stories, exploring the unanswered questions left behind when someone vanishes from our lives, was directed by Amit Sharma (The Solid Life of Sugar Water) and was the last production Graeae toured before the pandemic hit.
In this series of three short films made by Theatre Royal Plymouth and featuring exclusive interviews with the cast and creative team, the making of the production is explored, from the first day of rehearsals to opening night with everything in between! The films also look at how Graeae’s Training and Learning team works alongside productions, and how the company make their productions creatively accessible.
“Captioning and audio description are creatively incorporated into a bold revival of Winsome Pinnock’s play about the need for atonement.” The Stage
