Graeae is running an online Introduction to Accessible Marketing on Wednesday 17 July, 11 - 1pm.

Led by Graeae’s, Marketing and Development Manager, Charlotte McCabe and Graeae’s Artist Development Coordinator, Manishta Sunnia.

This training is suitable for individuals who work in arts and cultural organisations as well as freelancers who wish to develop their inclusive and accessible skills.

Did you know there is approximately 16 million disabled people in the UK and 11 million people with some form of hearing loss? If we make our marketing accessible, we are dismantling barriers, reaching a wider audience and creating a more equal industry.

In our Introduction to Accessible Marketing, you will gain a better understanding of Graeae’s history, why we still exist, touching on the social model of disability and the Aesthetics of Access. This session is an opportunity to learn about audience development techniques, focusing on digital materials, while having any of your queries answered in a safe and friendly environment.

Participants will be introduced to creating accessible marketing materials to reach a wider audience, learning new techniques when it comes to keeping for example, videos, e-flyers, social media and websites to market any production/project or event as accessible as possible.

This training session is targeted to people working in marketing, social media and digital content and anyone wanting to reach Deaf and disabled audiences. The training is focused as an introduction and will give you a foundation for starting your journey into accessible marketing.

This is a relaxed session, where participants will be welcome to ask questions and bring examples of previous processes for information and advice on best practice. Follow up resources will be provided.
