Dappled green leaves rustle out into the distance, filling me with an immense sense of ease and gratitude. I smiled, remembering one of my first days in Graeae’s East London rehearsal room; a frigid Thursday in early January 2018. Aged 22, new to London and the daunting theatre world, I  couldn’t quite believe my luck, utterly inspired by the invigorating energy and warmth of Jenny Sealey, Graeae’s Artistic Director, as she spoke to us about her work. Back then, I could never have imagined that, eight years later, I’d be travelling to rural Germany to represent Graeae as an established theatre director and work with a group of exciting German artists, sharing and further exploring inclusive practice. Time is sweet.
