Writing opportunities elsewhere

There are a number of new writing theatres and companies nationwide who are championing D/deaf and disabled writers through their artist development programmes. Click on the links below to find out more from our friends.

All the Birmingham Rep’s development schemes are accessible. They include The Foundry (the Rep’s leading development programme for writers, theatre-makers and directors), The Furnace (hubs where they bring development opportunities to local communities) and Write Away (an initiative for writers to refresh their writing brains).

York Theatre Royal is the oldest producing theatre outside of London. In 2017, they are launching an artist development programme, geared for early-to-mid-career artists and companies. For more information contact john.wilkinson@yorktheatreroyal.co.uk or john.tomlinson@yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
