A new company of theatre-makers, brought together by Talawa and Graeae over 6 weeks of workshops with some of our leading artists, present excerpts of the work they have made. Followed by post-show conversation led by directors Amit Sharma (Graeae) and Dan Bailey (Birmingham Rep).

Who’s Involved:
Talawa Theatre Company’s TALAWA FIRSTS has become the go-to platform for exciting emerging Black British artists to meet, spark off ideas, make work, and become the next generation to shape British theatre. Talawa is the UK’s leading Black touring theatre company.
Graeae’s new writing department has been developing the skills of D/deaf and disabled writers across the UK for the past five years, with their flagship WRITE TO PLAY programme, as well as with PLAY CHATS and PLAY LABS. Graeae is the UK’s leading theatre company working with D/deaf and disabled artists.
