Equity’s Screen and New Media Committee, in conjunction with the Deaf and Disabled Members Committee (DDMC), are delighted to announce that we will be holding a ground-breaking video games event on 30 October at Graeae Theatre in East London aimed at D/deaf and disabled performers. The purpose of the day will be both to introduce D/deaf and disabled performers to work opportunities within the games industry, but also to open the dialogue with the games industry about improving employment prospects for D/deaf and disabled performers, working on ways to enhance inclusivity throughout the game pipeline, from concept through to delivered game.
The structure of the day will start with a morning of practical workshops on mo-cap and voice led by industry professionals. In the afternoon, the event will be opened up to the wider games industry, who will join the performers for talks and panel discussions.
The event is free of charge and open to D/deaf and disabled members of Equity, and to non-members also.
Space is limited, however, so tickets will be on a first come, first serve basis.
